Jayson Paisley – Linn Primary School

My name is Jayson paisley, I have 2 awesome, funny, helpful and loving kids, Andrew 17 and Holly 11, Andrew is in the middle of his A level year and Holly has just completed her transfer test, I couldn’t be more proud of them.  I joined Linn Primary School in June 2009 as the Building Supervisor.   For a number of years previous I managed a shop in Belfast however as an emotional eater, the pressure and stress had helped me to become over 28 stone in weight, and steadily increasing!  One evening my parents told me it was time to make a change as I’d  “become too serious” and “lost my smile”!   The job in Linn was advertised the very same week!   I was so fortunate to have been awarded the position and to this day (thanks to Andrea) believe my life was saved!  Of course I’m going to be biased in my opinions however having had numerous jobs in the past I can honestly say that Linn Primary is an awesome place to be!  Andrea has an open door for everyone, children, staff and parents.  I know several building supervisors who are simply filling in time until retirement, however I try to be involved in as much as possible within school.  In my time here we’ve had staff come and go and one thing is shared by them all, the love for being in Linn PS!  The staff are so welcoming, helpful and thoughtful, which is reflected in the children we have.  My role in school is to ensure the safety, well-being and enjoyment of all who enter, the hygiene and cleanliness inside, the maintenance and upkeep of fixtures and fittings both inside and out.  While every day is different and there will be high and low points in all jobs I can honestly say I love coming to work!!!   I’ve never bragged that about any previous job.  From Andrea, each and every member of staff and especially the children,  I honestly adore them all!  I love the variety of my job, from fixing children’s glasses, glueing soles back onto shoes, washing floors or making scenery for school productions to scrubbing urinals and cleaning up vomit, (like I said highs and lows) lol.   I believe I have a “no problem” approach to everything  and when I’m needed will give each and every adult or child my time.  I joined slimming world the same month I started in Linn primary and lost 10 stone and became a consultant for them 9 years ago, I operate 2 midweek evening classes in school.  I’m very much a people person and although my job title is building supervisor the plaque on my door says “Caretaker”! A term I personally much prefer.
